The Boss: Protection and respect are gained by becoming strong and powerful and by hiding vulnerability. Attention naturally goes to injustices and to control.

  • I'm an 8 and not that way at all. If someone matches me I'll take it to the next level until they apalogize or just give up. I don't follow after them trying to provoke but I cannot back down.

  • the first part sounded like me (especially the social counter attack when verbally insulted) but the second part didn't. expecting a non 8 to match the choleric energy of an 8 is just stupid. energy level has nothing to do with who's right.

  • I'm a Type 2 and most of the 8s I've known tend to treat me like either a surrogate "little brother" (if they're male and well-adjusted), as a confidant (if they're well-adjusted and open/trusting, male or female), or as a doormat (if they're socially stunted).

  • @zenbrat Eights are more like junkyard dogs when they get confrontational. I'm a 2w1 with a tendency toward the receptive side (that's receptive, NOT submissive -- there's a difference) and I admire that kind of assertiveness.

  • Agreed. This person is Type Two (One wing). My daughter is exactly like this. Eights aren't going to be "catty" when someone humiliates them. Quite the contrary.

  • Have to agree, she seems more 2-like. All the 8's that I know have this certain FU attitude and energy that exudes from their very pores.

  • If somebody responds with anger to injustice, that doesn't make her an 8 automatically. Might be 6 or 1 as well... but 8 types have spontenous, intimidating power in conflicts... they never think, analyse, explain... but do it hell-bent!

See Paul Teutul sr in Orange Country Choppers, he is definitely an 8! :)

  • doesn't strike me as an 8 either.

  • This woman does not strike me as an 8. I would say she's a 2 (lower average to unhealthy 2's) move to 8 when unhealthy.

  • Cool, it's great to hear from an actual person with the type.. instead of just reading about it. I can relate to some of these things.
