It's not too late to join EFF this year! As the year draws to a close, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us sustain our many efforts to protect your rights. More than half of EFF's funding comes from individual donors like you, so your support is critical to sustaining our efforts.

  • "Convey the right to know" is the last line of this video, and it is based on a faulty understanding of what rights are.

Rights can not be conveyed. They can be defended, but they can not be granted or given. They are inalienable. We have rights because we own our own lives. This yields our natural rights to life, liberty and property. Free speech is a direct result of the natural right to liberty. It does not come from a govt.

It is defended by good governments, and violated by bad ones.

  • Agreed with this 100%

  • "Open expression"? Somebody has been saying "Open source" instead of "Free software" for too long.

  • eff that!

  • I have been a monthly supporter of EFF for awhile now. We need to fight for equal access, freedom of speech, and individual privacy on the Internet. EFF is doing all of these things and more. Please help by supporting EFF.

  • Heh, "plays a scientist on TV".

  • You guys should have uploaded this as part of the project for awesome. It could have gotten so much more attention which it deserves because this is a very important organization.

  • Good video, but I'm afraid that using the word "hackers" in the classical sense might scare people a little.
