As someone who lives in San Luis Obispo, central California, this seems like a great idea.
But, why only state when nation has such a nicer ring to it?

At first I was like "split up california?! HELL NO!" But then I saw that you guys won't be taking much so props to you. Hope it works out. Maybe california will soon be its own country. The California Republic!

The state of jefferson is a great plan. Southern oregon is much more like northern California then it is the rest of oregon, and the same goes for California. they're populations are relitivily low, and the citizens need to be represented by someone who knows what that climate needs to survive. not what portland or sanfran needs to get by. you have my vote. ~Willamette Valley, Oregon.
