Forever have we been advised to be mindful of diabetic feet. This vlog is no different - in fact, it's an example of why you need to watch your feet like you'd mind your business. They're just as important and likely as hard-working as the rest of us (if not more!) For more vlogs and to subscribe to "Allies Voice" - visit: http://www.alliesvoice.com

  • Allie, You are too funny....spider bite or hitting your foot on the table.... I guess it shows us Diabetics still can't kick through wood! Way to spread the word on the foot problems, I've been lucky so far but oh my gosh if you look up foot problems with Diabetic on the internet... be prepared to not eat dinner..... GROSS

  • Glad you laughed and not cursed at me hehe

  • Vitamin supplements for wound healing, Zinc, Vitamin B, L Lysine, Echinacea,

  • hahahaha ;- )

  • Damn. I've hit my little toe many times but never really checked it. You girls got girly feet pfft lol

  • Youre a funny gal, love your posts :)

But seriously I dont mean to make a joke out of you cracking your toe its just how you do your posts makes me chuckle sometimes.

Yes always check your feet when you get a chance, usually when showering is a good opportunity to take a peak for sores. Does everybody here do a cotton wool or feather test? That is have someone if not your doctor, gently run a feather or cotton on your feet without you looking, this tests sensitivity of your feet.

  • omg, compound fracture! hope it gets better soon.

  • lol, i thought you were talking about Foot and mouth disease. I stub my toes too much, I think my brain was born with size 12 feet while my body was born with size 15.

  • I broke two toes the same way. In fact, my baby toe is broken right now and I have no idea how I did it. Good tips.

I forgot to tell you that I've only had one stroke. You've got me beat. I don't like to talk about the negative stuff too often because I feel overwhelmed by this disease and by the frustrating things that happen.

I hope you tape your big toe to keep it straight. Mine healed crookedly and it looks like Owen Wilson's nose. Keep that tape on! lol

  • Good tip, Allie.

Another tip for foot care is to keep your toenails trimmed down. I neglected that a few months ago, and I snagged one of my great-toe nails on a blanket while I was sleeping and ripped the whole thing right off. I didn't even notice till the next morning when I was putting on my socks. Even minor injuries can become infected, though, so you gotta watch everything.
