This is a video of my Dads hydroplane.

The Miss DeSoto is a world famos hydroplane that set several world records in the late 1950's and early 60's. It was lost sometime in the 70's and was not seen again until 2001 when Butch Bailey found the boat in major decay. After a 8 year restroation this was the boats first few laps on the water in its home town of Columbus Ohio.

Motor - 1958 Hemi 410 cu. in. w/ Potvin Supercharger
Year Built - 1956 by Henry Lauterbach
Class - 7 liter

Titles/Records -
First limited hydroplane to run a 1 mile course at 151 MPH in 1958. Butch was 12 years when he saw this run. The record has not been broken. (Record retired in 2008)

The Only Hydroplane in history to win a 9 hour marathon in the Atlantic Ocean (1959)
