  • Humans must first learn to take care of the Earth first. This is what must happen before we start colonizing other worlds, it is a requirement, simply stated.

  • I agree, but it will take about the same to educate Earth people to responsibility than terraforming Mars.

The huge paradox is that terraforming techniques and methods would become available sooner if we all gained in responsibility and consciousness.

The more we flee responsibility, the more the improbable goal of terraforming will be postponed, because terraforming would in this case be done for the wrong reasons.

Let us ask ourselves first for which reasons we would terraform other planets

  • it is part of our future... one day i can definately see mankind conquering mars and colonising it.. scary thought though

  • Mars is not the answer. The answer as you stated is less people, less pollution and more responsibility. Earth is already fully evolved in plant & life forms, and that took 2 billion years to accomplish. Are you going to send people who destroyed Earth to another planet to try to build up a climate and plant life there and then ruin it again? Terraforming if it worked at all takes centures or millenia, massive resources and the result would be just a shadow of earth. Wrong logic. Save Earth.

  • NASA knows exactly what is going on with the elements on MARS. Shhhh its a secret!! They didnt name it the Phoenix for nothing.
