VTV captures the essence of Author Adra Young as she speaks to Hancock Prep students in Detroit about their everyday concerns. From skipping school because they didn't want to wear dirty clothes, to acting out because their dad didn't come to pick them up; The monologues she shared touched the students and made them feel they were not alone. These everyday stories explain why many of our children aren't learning in school. The stress from problems at home are coming into the school with them making it difficult for teachers to get to the task at hand - imparting skills that will help them become productive members of society..
