Richard Harris - MacArthur Park

Long before I ever knew anything about the movies of Richard Harris, I was a fan of his music; and in particular MacArthur Park which he recorded in 1968.

It is probably still my favourite song of all time. I thought I'd do a video montage of clips highlighting some of the many movies Harris starred in during his lengthy career.

Acompanho Richard desde os anos 60, quando Jimmy webb fez a música mais linda de todos os tempos. Hoje digo com certeza é a segunda música mais gravada no mundo, depois de White Christmas. Quanto a Richard Harris, que prá mim se tornou depois de Frank sinatra, o maior Cantor do Mundo, é preciso conhecer no mínimo 50% do repertório desse inesquecível Cantor. He can't sing?????? What are you listening to? Richard Harris more than does justice to this beautiful and introspective piece. There isn't a person alive or dead who could have done this better. This song is a classic and will forever be among my favorites.

Weak lyrics and weak vocal, but still a brilliant song. The melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic ideas and the orchestrations were fabulous. There's never been a pop song before or since quite like this.

Black and white thinkers will only think of cakes melting in the rain. This song wasn't really written for such a thinker. There is symbolism in art.....and, in this song, there is much symbolism.
