A special day today at Tutt Middle School as the faculty and students commemorated black history month. Some famous local African Americans were on hand. African American members from the local television, print and radio media all showed up to provide words of inspriration to the students. All of news 12's African American anchors and reporters were on hand. Chris Thomas and others had the chance to share take away messages to the crowd. Organizers say that the program provided an opportunity for the youth to learn about the many jobs in journalism and also the opportunity to realize they can achieve their dreams. Others media members shared success stories and entertained the crowd with pearls of wisdom. Tutt middle also celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.
