Demonstration of dangers of Driving While Texting (DWT) using Drive Square Driving SImulator (www.drivesquare.com). Drive Square simulator sets up using an actual car. No vehicle modifications are required. At this event, the vehicle was provided / sponsored by Ourisman Chevrolet in MD.

@TheGameNTech no thats not the worst thing that could happen. look when you text and drive you risking the lifes of you and everyone around you. just because you at a red light doesn't make it safe to text. you taking you eyes, and mind off the road and your hands off the controls of the car (steering wheel, shifter, etc) when text while in a car your 4x times more likely to crash and slows your reaction time down 91%

great idea, keep on texting and driving. and one day when your replying to a useless text that says "whats up" and you dont see a innocent 6 year old girl crossing the street and you hit her and kill her and have to live with that guilt the rest of your life and explain to her parents that you killed their little girl over a text? your pathetic. i want texting and driving to end, no one should die cause you cant wait 5 min, to reply to your text.

@TheGameNTech no its fact. sure you would think your fine, till it actually happens. it seems like everyone says. "oh it never happen to me". and but it probably will happen. i'm mean. look like i said mine AND YOUR reaction time is down 91%. did you know if you get caught, you will get a $750 fine and 3 MONTHS in jail! and if you just happen to hit somone but not killing them (like at a "red light") its a $1,000 fine and 6 months in jail.

im always sexting and drivig and i never crash, i have been hit by other cars 6 time though....

@chadro85 I text and drive all the time while I'm at red lights. Worst thing happen to me is a Horn Honk from guy behind me.. Than I just tell him to go around, that's why we have more than 1 lane :).

@JamesonLemonade and you know whats crazy is that texting is more dangerous than drunk drivng and driving while high / smoking pot. (from a study done by one of the leading univiersitys studying the effects of texting and driving)
