Carl Bernstein defends Barack Obama on CNN

In a March 20, 2008 appearance on "Anderson Cooper 360," veteran journalist and Watergate hero, Carl Bernstein, demanded more high minded reporting and agreed with guest David Gergen (who had appeared just moments before) that Barack Obama was correct in his statement that people harbor stereotypical opinions. Bernstein refused to buy into Cooper's tabloid portrayal of Obama and asked that the level of conversation be elevated to permit more legitimate reporting of this historically important election.

Cooper, who was assailed just moments earlier by Senior CNN analyst, David Gergen, for Cooper's tabloidization of Obama, looked like a chastised child. Thankfully the adults took control of the discussion and stopped neophyte Cooper in his tracks. In the world of politics, Cooper is no astute player. He's better suited covering nature and wildlife. He's not ready for legitimate reporting and doesn't warrant the prime time slot he's been awarded. Get a grip, CNN. Bring on a pro!!!

I'm so sick of CNN giving Obama a pass on everything he says and does. And as for Bernstein he writes books and makes money off of these politicians and then goes on CNN and tears them apart.
