15 Kittens in One Room (Cute Overload!!)

Volunteering at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter/Humane Society of Lackawanna County on July 31st, 2011.

I encourage EVERYONE in Lackawanna County who enjoys animals to volunteer there, and to not let the fear of "getting sad" at the sight of homeless animals deter you.
I can GUARANTEE that feeling will quickly be replaced by an incredible sense of fulfillment and joy.

Spending time with the cats at this shelter over the past year has been one of the most rewarding, fulfilling things I've ever done.

Despite the bittersweet feelings, knowing that these specific, sentient animals were helplessly abandoned, & that their futures are now uncertain, it's infinitely more rewarding knowing that you've brightened their (otherwise terribly boring) day that you've spent with them.

Whether you prefer spending times with cats, dogs, or small animals, even a 10-minute visit could considerably brighten the day of one of them.

This shelter is open 7-days a week Noon until 4:30pm.
