La Grande Bouffe (1973)
"vulgar vaudeville on an epic scale...a mordant, chilling, hilarious dirty movie"
Avec Marcello Mastroianni, Michel Piccoli, Philippe Noiret, Ugo Tognazzi, Andréa Ferréol, Solange Blondeau
grotesquely amusing French black comedy about four men who grow sick of life, and so meet at a remote villa with the goal of literally eating themselves to death. - all are successful men with excessive appetites for life's pleasures (food is used as mere metaphor here, as graphic as that metaphor becomes)
@chadkops Ah non c'est bon j'ai trouvé le message "toutes les scènes concourent à dénoncer une classe sociale qui vit pour manger et non qui mange pour vivre"

matroianni, noiret, piccoli, and tognazzi are actors that i like, but i didnt like the film so much. it wasnt funny or dark or dramatic or well-written like i thought it would be. i also dont like ferreri's "dillinger e morto" which also stars piccoli, but i thought that "la grande bouffe" would be much better. this couldve been darker, dirtier, more erotic, more appetizing, more subversive, more hilarious, more satirical, more dramatic + better-written. can you upload "marriage italian style"?
