My car accident 1/10/11

I captured this video on my morning commute on January 10th, 2011 in Boise, ID on my Droid X smartphone mounted onto my dash. The Ford Ranger on the left swerved out of control, smashing into the barricade on the right. When I slowed down to avoid the crash, I was rear-ended by a large semi truck.

Looks like you did everything right, had your eyes on the road, saw the pickup bolt across traffic, adjusted your speed properly by slowing down gradually, instead of slamming on your breaks, then you slowly pulled over, after you were rear ended. Glad you're ok. Could have ended with you in an ambulance, or worse. It's good that you can document the incident, should anyone question you on what happened. I hope the semi truck driver's insurance company took care of all your repairs.

@xPOMCAMx Didn't even go to insurance. Trucking company paid for all of my damages out of pocket.

I also mount my Droid X like that and record sometimes here in AZ waiting for an accident or some eventful situation. This video caught my eye cuz I used to live in Boise. :)

lol i can relate to the ford ranger truck driver somewhat. was driving down the highway. It was wet because it had rained earlier. Then a random dog ran RIGHT in front of me and i swerved (i know dumb but it was so suddennn) and i lost control of my ford explorer and swerved back n to on the rode, nearly side swiping a guard railing and flew into another lane of traffic when my truck flipped and i almost got t-boned by on coming traffic- scary shit right there
