The judges first initially awarded Ara a point, but after the round they assigned the point and the match to Minguzzi because Ara had his hand in the blue zone. Normally, having a hand in the blue zone is not penalized. (Minguzzi had almost his whole body in the blue zone earlier in this match). Ara and his coach demanded a video review of the match, but the referees refused and just laughed in front of him.

First of all this isn't some regular game you play in your backyard. If you could understand this sport you would know how badly he got screwed over. This was probably the worse call ever. The Italian judge was related to the opponent of Abrahamian it was clearly biased. For a world champion like Abrahamian and being cheated out of Gold means EVERYTHING! you forget this guy is a world champion and was training four years for this chance which he was fucked over.

Ara was robbed of gold medal! So much corruption in the 2008 Games especially those 13 and 14 year old Chinese female gymnasts who were definitely not at least 16! USA was robbed too :(
