Yeah, I don't really have a use for it either. Although, the tracking part of this app would be very useful if my phone was stolen. I won't be renewing my license though.

Yes if you set up for 5 mins intervals the battery will drain in no time at all.

Ownspy is not maintained to the highest standard. Most times the server it runs on seems very slow or the GPS tracker can say the phone is somewhere it is not.

Think twice before getting it.
