yeah i hear what you're saying. The cycle lane is ok until u get adjacent to st peters and join up with the pedestrians. This 'cycle lane' is simply a pedestrian walkway that the council have split in two by painting a white line down the middle. Bit of a joke seeing that you have to weave in and out of pedestrians who have no clue to keep out of the cycle lane. The main problem is there is no room south of Elm Grove to create a proper cycle lane, similar to the one north of Vogue Gyratory.

this is in brighton, right?

Trouble is there used to be a white cycle painted on the road at the beginning of that bus lane, until the council got round to removing it. She probably thought she could go straight on. Even if she didnt i dont blame her for going down there. The main road is lethal and the cycle lane is a joke. The bus lane is the lesser of 3 evils IMHO. A decent road bike can easily outpace the buses anyway, considering 90% of them have to stop at st peters. Anyway rant over lol

true on the "white cycle" comment, but it is much safer to follow the signs stating cycle lane to the left, round st peters and then rejoins the main road at Church Street. It is safer to cycle on the pavement. disregarding the fact she cycled straight through the red light. Most cycles will scoot round a bus regardless of if its indicating or not. Bricycles are now trying to get the cycle lane improved and leveled out.
