  • Every time I watch this film I ask myself: Why isn't this an international classic? It is one of the best directed films I have ever seen and the acting is extraordinary. This is what makes French cinema compete with Hollywood and not Besson's epics.

People will recognize great art when they see it and this film is arguably exactly that: great art!

For me up there with Kurosawa, Bergman and Herzog!

  • One of the best films ever made.

Please ignore imbeciles who may say otherwise.

  • Love this film, the music at the end is really moving and the acting is fantastic, should of got a Oscar.American films make me feel nauseus.

  • @needspeed13 Bollocks, sorry.

  • yeah i saw this film about 10 yrs ago too and i even bought the video, that blinde girl was really messed up in the head

  • I'm not an artist or an art critic but I know what I don't like. This film is not so good. It's not enough to make this as an international classic. It's boring as hell, one of the French trashy films. Period.

  • I'm sorry this is only my opinion, I don't like the film. They made it too long and quite boring just to tell a simple message. I got really bored, nothing so special. Typical French film. Other than that, the acting was good. Not my taste, but I suggest you still watch it.

  • does she die? was that the ending?

    i thought it was a trailer :(

  • SPOILER ALERT!!!

  • saw it last night. What a great film!

I dont normally like this sort of thing but this is a must watch

  • Watched this several years ago & really haunted me. Still a truly great film.

  • I only saw this film yesterday and loved it. Regnier was unpredictable and I liked that aspect. I love foreign films they tend not to include typical cliche background music etc. it has an irregular feel to it with plenty of silence that adds to the film. The ending was shocking even though I was expecting something like to happen.
