After a weekend near Palo Duro, in the Texas Panhandle, I returned to Redford to assemble a longer lasting cross to mark the resting place of my friend. It was painted blue to commemorate Maria de Agreda, The Lady in Blue, who appeared to the Jumano Apache Tribe in the sixteenth century to teach them the ways of Christianity. Subsequently, the Jumano Apaches were spared from the conquest of the Roman Catholic Spanish missionaries and remain in The Valley of the Rio Bravo, the Redford area, and other parts of the Chihuahuan desertto this day. I also thought it a good time to lay down an ace card and reveal to the world one of the motivating factors for coming to the Big Bend Desert Region. Via con Dios. (I'm hearing some bad audio quality [chirping whispers] in this video. It bugs the heck out of me but I'm unsure what went wrong in the upload. My appologies.)

  • this is micheal paul hill, that Apache guy from San Carlos Apache Reservation who came to visit Enrique's place. Your title is very misleading and is disrespectful to the Jumano Apaches. As a traditional Apache man I must ask you to remove your title in regard to the lady in blue and the jumano name. this is also a violation of the UN Declaration on the Right of Indigenous Peoples.

  • Mr. Hill. regardless of the how's and whys, the Almighty Spirit had me place that marker there, for larger reasons than just the loss of my friend, and face it in a certain direction. As a descendant of the Cherokee Nation, and a Texas Panhandle Plainsman, I will honor your request, but understand, it was placed there as a signal to the Jumanos Apache to mark the Times. Best Regards,

    The Lone Eagle.

  • @kehheh oh yea, I have a Comanche great grandmother also, and me father's side.
