What is a youth?
Impetuous fire.
What is a maid?
Ice and desire.
The world wags on

A rose will bloom,
It then will fade
So does a youth.
So does the fairest maid.

Comes a time when one sweet smile
Has its seasons for awhile
Then Love's in love with me
Some may think only to marry.
Others will tease and tarry.
Mine is the very best parry,
Cupid he rules us all.

Caper the caper; sing me the song
Death will come soon to hush us along
Sweeter than honey and bitter as gall,
Love is a pass-time that never will pall.
Sweeter than honey and bitter as gall,
Cupid he rules us all.

A rose will bloom, it then will fade.
So does a youth.
So does the fairest maid.

  • I am not suprised. Young people are different today. If a man sings a love song, they would consider him as a fag. Today's man is who can sing about sex, having many babies and drive a pick up track. I feel I live in a junky world. O glorious Shakespeare.

  • Romeo himself, Leonard Whiting, is a singer as well. He sang "The Raven" for the Alan Parsons Project in 1975. If only Shakespeare could've seen that, huh?

  • How did they get her hair to be so perfect?

  • epic.

  • @rachelportman2 Not all young kids but most i'm 15 and this is one of my favorite songs

  • @rachelportman2 its only like that in america, guys would be considered fags for that, and a good majority of the girls are bitchy, slutty and ignorant so its almost impossible for romeo and juliet to exist here. Im half spanish and go to spain every summer, and man are things different in europe, people are much more classier and romantic.

  • It's true cupid rule us aLl
