Good rant! I think you've just about summed up most of my beliefs right there. Though the problem is... some people will NEVER see things rationally. Because of the way they were raised and the beliefs that have been with them throughout their life (and those beliefs practically ARE their life) they will refuse to change one thing about their beliefs till their dying breath. Sad...

The Bible says to give 10%.. It's not very much considering that God is our creator.
It's not a Darwin fish unless it says Darwin or has legs on it.. It's a Christian symbol. God wants us all to live happy lives.
In the Church I go to the pastor only gets enough money to survive.. the rest goes to a good cause.
The only way to get to heaven is accept Jesus into your heart and follow his word.

and, despite your church being a supposed 'exception', pastors usually get paid for their services.

well jesus said that church should be meetings of christian people to pray to God... can you see that in a today's church???
well anyway.. i dont believe in church.. i believe in jesus, a good person and to John a great prophet(you know apocalypse and stuff :D)

well i'll comment on what you say even though i think you're justified in your thoughts: I don't think you're a dumbass, you're entitled to your own beliefs and you choose to be in a religion, whereas, I do not. I can't help but to wonder, what if after Jesus said that church was the meeting place for christians that Man took the opportunity to capitalize on church and become the profiteers of people's beliefs? It's just disturbing from my perspective.
