@greenpilgrim50 Its my understanding that he hated what all those girls loved: a manufactured image. He wasn't able to do his music, he was doing the PF music and it just wasnt him. Just the the Monkees 10 years earlier with the same producers.

@dakert40 i heard that david always hated the teen idol image & was rude to his young girl fans because he always wanted to be taken seriously as a performer but couldn't get past the teen idol thing. That's just what I heard; don't know if it's true or not. I know he had a fan following in the black community which took him seriously musically and maybe he appreciated that more? Anyone know?
