  • Amazing... this is the musical personification of the free spirit. At first, it's hard to get into, because it seems to have no tune or coherence. Then you realize that, in a sense, that IS the "tune" and "coherence" of Free Jazz. The characteristics of Free Jazz lie in the fact that it has no characteristics. It's completely flowing and wandering.
