The City of North Richland Hills new park, Stormy Plaza, is located at 9010 Grand Avenue between the NRH Library and The Venue. The 1.13 acre park has features reminiscent of the Spanish Steps in Rome, Italy. With its stout limestone retaining walls and impressive glass aggregate finish on the plaza floors, a stroll through the plaza is an experience you will not soon forget. The park also delivers historical significance, as its name was given in honor of James Harold Stormy Mangham. He was the owner of Mangham Airport, which operated from 1954 to 1986 and was located just west of the plaza. The name Stormy Plaza also complements the theme of the twenty foot tall public art piece by Barbara Grygutis commissioned by the City. The glass and steel sculpture is entitled Weather.
