fucking hate exams after all these exams are done i'm banging out cod

I've got my paper 1 exam on Monday...I was wondering, for Section B, should one focus on being as regimented and calculated as possible in their writing, (for example, making sure they use all the persuasive techniques in the persuade question etc..) or should one attempt to be as creative and original as possible? Is the examiner looking for flare and originality, or does he just want the candidate to follow exactly what the question is asking him?

@smileyb10 Hi - this is for the old AQA exam, you'll be doing the new one, but the information here is still relevant on how to answer the question.

is it true that your not able to choose anymore between persuade, advise, argue for the AQA english language exam?

@Annizz1991 Yes that's true, it's better that way, some say, you just answer what's in front of you rather than being torn or confused with varied writing styles etc.
