Goddamn, Logan could not be more wrong on this one. TF2's DLC's are perfectly balanced. I, for one, have unlocked all the DLC's, but I still prefer to use the original weapons, because the unlockables don't necessarily mean more damange. They have their own disadvantages compared to the originals to make them balance. It's all up to player preference. They have recently nerfed the new bat unlockable for the scout, and now it's as good as useless.

Look, Valve does a lot of testing to make sure that the new weapons are balanced. If you have enough skill, then you should be able to kill anybody in any situation. TF2 is a very balanced game, and offers variety for certain players play style. If you don't have a certain weapon, you are still able to play the game, and you can still do well. often time I find myself playing with all of the stock weapons, because they've stood the test of time, and are still made to give a core experience.
