--------

Stravinsky, Nijinsky, Roerich and Diaghilev captured it in 1913. Martha Reeves and the Vandellas picked it up again in 1964. It's the feeling of Spring and the urge to dance in the streets.

With the change of seasons comes an unbuttoning of shirts, a raising of skirts, a lowering of inhibitions and the urge to cut loose as the grass grows under tapping toes.

This months Pulsewave is here to help.

-------------------------

minusbaby trades in counterpoint, subtle dissonances and surprises. While it may be impossible to predict what will happen at each performance, one constant can be expected: a forceful equatorial beat. Each familiar song is given new variation while the center holds it down with a bassy bottom end to make anything bump and bounce that hasn't been tied down. Around this nucleus will undoubtedly spin surprise guest after surprise guest as the maestrobaby explodes the very meaning of 8-bit orchestration.

Lutins first Pulsewave has been too long coming, but walking from. He's a practiced hand at multiple disciplines of Game Boy composition and a cursory glance at people's comments on his music will reveal the wonder and awe he inspires in those who aspire to some day have such complete control over a medium. His sound synthesis style is unique and his songs tease emotion out of the listener with energy and inescapable feelings of free motion and highflying grace. In other words, Lutin can make you feel both elated and elevated.

You may have seen Natty perform a few times before, but before he departs for his Indian adventure, he wants to throw a little on-stage going away party. For the first time he won't be alone up there: Teddy and Arden Stern of Edward:Mastermind have joined forces with him to embark on a collective venture known, for now, simply as Adams/Stern. This is a first glimpse of things to come and some surprises endeavor to leave the audience both aurally and visually stimulated. The band plans on rocking.

For your ocular edification you'll witness permutative pairings of a triumvirate pool of vjs par excellence: handheld microcoding master, Paris, circuit circumventing genius, noteNdo, and graphical producer and manipulator, JYK. Look forward to looking forward because if you turn around you'll be missing out.
