Are Basenji's really that hard to train? I just bought a seven week old basenjin puppy and I love him to bits. But its so hard to keep his attention on one thing for more then two seconds. He loves my attention but only when he thinks its fun...or if he thinks I am ignoring him.

I have a besenji i rescued from the pound, he was beaten and was returned to the pound 3 times, till we found him, he is so much trouble, always causing mischief, still there a wonderfull animal i love him,

Yes, it can be a dangerous thing to present more opportunities for exploration to basenjis, especially puppies. Today they can race up and down the stairs without a second's hesitation
