I love this song, too. Not the best recording, what camera did you use?

Beautiful. It has a a "hummingbird" sadness about it. Emotions are interdependent often times, and John displays this coelescence on a regular basis. You need to face every emotion head on to be truly virtuous. Insecurities have to be displayed willingly, and humility ultimately has to shine.

The background guitar music sounds like he's running. There is an urgency about it.
-
...in order to have intimacy.
-
Maybe he is saying he is ready to confront all of his fears of intimacy.
-
It's like an invocation. It's as if he invoking parts of himself which he previously kept hidden (even from himself)like an exorcism. Maybe even a clearing away. ..to make room for love? He's bringing everything "into the light"...to be healed? I can't get all of the words, but the simple, bare, vulnerable, raw honesty of it all is INCREDIBLE to listen to!

Is it about vulnerability in intimacy? If so I am totally turned on...kid you not!
-
But, what is The War of My Life about? Is it about intimacy and love? It sounds DAM DEEP and right down to the bone... but I'm not sure I get it. What's he talking about? Anyone know?

Nice song!

sounds like the beat he had on the cd in his car on the battle studies update except there he was singing "every summer is a brand new song" looks like he reworked it a little

He's grown so much as an artist. Deeper and more profound every album
