An unofficial music video I made for "Cathedrals" by Jump Little Children.

Still learning my way around making videos. Check out my other ones and let me know what you think by leaving comments. Thanks for watching!

Lyrics:

In the shadows of tall buildings
Of fallen angels on the ceilings
Oily feathers in bronze and concrete
Faded colors, pieces left incomplete
The line moves slowly past the electric fence
Across the borders between continents

In the cathedrals of New York and Rome
There is a feeling that you should just go home
And spend a lifetime finding out just where that is

In the shadows of tall buildings
The architecture is slowly peeling
Marble statues and glass dividers
Someone is watching all of the outsiders
The line moves slowly through the numbered gate
Past the mosaic of the head of state

In the cathedrals of New York and Rome
There is a feeling that you should just go home
And spend a lifetime finding out just where that is

In the shadows of tall buildings
Of open arches endlessly kneeling
Sonic landscapes echoing vistas
Someone is listening from a safe distance
The line moves slowly into a fading light
A final moment in the dead of night

In the cathedrals of New York and Rome
There is a feeling that you should just go home
And spend a lifetime finding out just where that is

  • This is quite beautiful. Brilliant to juxtapose the gloriious skyscrapers against the painful homelessness for such a sad song.

  • Depressing and beautiful- I love it.

  • The '1' dislike must be a politician.

  • It's true - NYC is a place everyone should visit once. But living there? Fuggetaboutit...

It's a waking nightmare of stressed people living ass-to-jowl paying $5000/month for a phone booth with running water. No thanks. That doesn't make you tougher. It just means you're too stupid to live somewhere better. 99.999999999% of the USA is better. Better cost of living, better climate, better housing, etc.

If you were homeless, wouldn't it be better to be homeless in, say, Key West than NYC?

  • Really nice job to a beautiful song......

  • I think you did a lovely job with this video - one of my favorite songs.
