Angel From Montgomery is a country song written by John Prine, originally appearing on his self-titled 1972 album John Prine. It has been covered notably by Bonnie Raitt as well as Tanya Tucker . Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds do a decent cover as well
Its written from the female prospective. but you don't have to be female to identify with the lyrics "how the hell can a person go to work in the morning, and come home in the evening and have nothing to say?" or the songs hook " to believe in this livin' is such a hard way to go ".
