This demo represents the differences between the Epi and the Gibi.
I'm demoing them aucousticly, trough a clean and an overdriven Marshall JMP 2203 100W MV.
Note: The Gibson's playability is incredible, so bear in mind you can't feel the guitar., however, I think the difference in this "mic'd up" demo is really notable.

    cool ha; don't you think.?

  • I know it's just a detail, but next time make sure the guitars are in the same tuning. It does make a difference, especially with fatter strings.

What you're saying is very true. I'm planning on doing another demo in summer. Thanks

  • thank you for doin a review w/o effects. its easier to judge the difference that way. how would you compare the action of the 2?

  • The Epi sound well, but the action of my Gibson is way better. It really makes a huge difference, trust me ;-)

  • Gibsons are good guitars but they're overpriced...and it's a myth that Honduran mahogany is superior to African mahogany. You're wrong about acoustic guitars. Laminated (plywood) tops are used on low-end guitars while high-end acoustics use solid tops. Research!

  • I own a Gibson Les Paul & yes there are some minor quality differences, but it isn't worth thousands more than my copies. And the copies are solid bodies, not chambered or weight-relieved like Gibson, & they have scarf-joint necks, not weak one piece like Gibson (Gibsons are notorious for headstock breakage). If you buy a nice $500-$700 Les Paul style guitar, get a fret-dress, change the nut, get a good set-up, then you'll have an amazing guitar for a fraction of the cost of a Gibson.

  • GIBSON 1ª LINHA ,,,,,EPIPHONE 2ª LINHA ,Não preciso falar + nada

  • Gibson hasnt put out very many guitars since 2008 that anyone can trufully say they are better than epiphone because there not, for the past 4 years its been all epphone!

  • Most epiphone models today are so underpriced its pathetic!

  • Most epiphones made from 2008 to present are as good even bettet than gibson.

  • Since top luthier Michael Voltzs left Gibson and joined Epiphones in 2001 his main goal has been to turn Epiphone in to a top guitar company like they were some years ago. And today Mike Voltzs has most certainly done that and more. Today most Epiphones Sg's and les Paul's are top professional quality and are most certainly Gibson's equal and better. And it's all because of Master Luthier Michael Voltzs. Thanks again Mike Voltzs for making Epiphone great once again!

  • Today's Epiphones are the very best in top professional quality. Its a known fact that certain Epiphone Sg Models dump all over The Gibson Models.

  • Epiphone is better than Gibson that all i think!

  • The sound of both guitars are great. Im just not hearing a $1500-$2000 price difference. Maybe construction wise I could see another $300-$500 on a Gibson thats about it.

  • the only way to make a true comparison video is by putting the same strings on both guitars and the same pickups. then that would make the comparions between a gibson and epi more equal. cause the pickups for an epi typically suck

  • @valadez191 Customs have carved maple tops. Check the Gibson website or any catalog.
