Dr. Donald Corenman is one of a handful of neck and back doctors that are both a MD and doctor of chiropractic (DC). His practice with the Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO serves the Vail and Denver area. Patients travel from the US and abroad seeking resolution for chronic back pain and failed surgical treatment.

Colorado spine expert (http://neckandback.com | 970-479-5895), Dr. Donald Corenman, MD, DC, is a spine surgeon in private practice at the Steadman Clinic—Vail Spine Institute—in Vail, CO—the premier spine institute for sports injuries.

Dr. Corenman is skilled at diagnosing all areas of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine and is an expert in treating degenerative conditions such as spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease, as well as all sports related and traumatic injuries involving fractures. He recently created this video— Understanding X-rays of the Cervical Spine —to provide a detailed description of this area of the spine.

This is designed for the practitioner who has access to X-rays for diagnosis of neck disorders. Understanding X-rays of the cervical spine can be tricky yet they are very informative. Cervical X-rays can deliver so much information in so few films. One can look at the health of the discs, uncovertebral joints, facets, nerve root foramen, alignment, spinal canal diameter, and even the occiput-C2 joint complex.

This test is the only real way to determine how gravity affects the spine (MRIs and CT scans are performed lying down and the stand-up MRIs are of poor quality). Flexion and extension views add to the knowledge of motion of the spine and oblique films can identify bone spurs in the foramen. Please be sure to visit Dr. Corenman's other spine-related videos—(produced similar to understanding X-rays of the Cervical Spine) now available on You Tube at: http://www.youtube.com/user/neckandback

  • @Pacerjames Not a problem. Best of luck in getting this figured out as quickly as possible.

  • Whenever I walk up or downstairs the two vertebrae at the base of my neck click as though they are passing over each other. It is painful. My left knee feels out of alignment and I wondered if this is linked to the clicking in my neck

  • @1arrange

    Highly unlikely these are associated.
