What the video doesn't mention is one of the other female paramedics from this same episode, Marlena Yomes, who also went on to become a flight medic for Hawaii Air Ambulance was also later killed in an air medical crash in Hawaii. They are both missed everyday

Word of advice to all new emt's/paramedics. Never transport a pt prone. You cannot monitor or treat airway issues effectively while in this position. Current protocol for combative pts is to tx supine and in 4 point restraints. Also I would like to note I am not in any way criticizing that paramedic. Placing pts prone had been the standard of care for many years and was probably still done when this was filmed. If your new to the field ask the old guys about the "scoop sandwich."
