For your reference I used the 4GB RAM Upgrade Kit from Crucial, and a spare 320GB Seagate Momentus 5400rpm HDD.

The HDD will be used as a temporary solution until I install a 7200rpm 500GB Seagate drive.

If your wondering how I cloned my existing 160GB OEM drive - it was done using a free version of SuperDuper.

You can download it from their website - it is an awesome application.

  • @RandomDoomsday15 No it does not voice warrenty. Do not comment unless you have correct information. Apple allows you to swap RAM and HDD out as they are user replaceable parts [as stated in the manual]. However if you damage the internals whilst doing it you may be at risk.

  • @RandomDoomsday15 All comes down to individual competencies. I am a professional IT consultant and find such things easy - most other people would too [hence me doing a video]. But there are some people who should not even attempt working in their kit.

  • Awesome video! So how would I go about re-installing Lion OS x?

  • can you change or upgrade intel processor?

  • My laptop, 2.53 ghz 4gb ram, intel core 2 duo and 250gb HD.

Standard and basic MBP 15inch late summer 2009 release.

I have a question to ask, I've upgraded to lion and everything works fine, since I want to upgrade with a faster 8gb ram I wanted to know wether this customization may affect negatively the new OS.

    Thanks!

  • What Kind of watch do u have?????

  • can the watch get any bigger ?????????

  • Dude you took out the sata and then put in the same one...

  • Hi, i have the same computer (Macbook Pro 2.26 Ghz Intel Core 2 Due, 2gb 1067 MHz DDR3).Is it practical for me to replace/upgrade my ram to 8 gigs?? I mean, it's 2.26 Ghz... I'm not sure how it would turn out..... Also, is it better to just get a portable hard drive or replace the internal hard drive?? Would either one of those 2 be faster than the other? (assuming that both would have the same amount of storage)

  • hey whats the name of this song?

  • can you change the video card?

  • Thanks, nice tune nice vid and nice U-Boat. Simples
