    What really went great for Carnival is the fact that all the aide from the U.S. Coast Guard is free. Carnival pays no U.S. taxes, being registered in Panama but they do get the services of the Coast Guard courtesy of the U.S. tax payers. What a great deal for Carnival.

    500 bucks is nothing for these cruse agencies. they should have each gotten their money back, a free cruise, and at least a couple grand a piece.

    it would have really helped their PR and the backlash wouldnt have been close to as bad.

    Don't look now but there was a fire on the ole RC. RC is not better you perceive it to be better based on something as silly as advertising. It's all about age and maintenance. An argument could be made in favor of Carnival being more lively. RC people cant dance.
