While there no shortage of people with an opinion about what you should want for your life, their advice, as well-intentioned as it probably is, will do little to inspire you, if it's not in line with what you really want.

And while most of us are familiar with the concept of vision and understand that it's an important thing to have, not many of us have one that moves us, and the primary reason for that, I believe, is because, we've faked ourselves into believing that creating a vision is hard and painful.

However, if you approach it in the right way, can actually be fun and energizing.

The process I take people through to help them develop clarity as to their life's vision is to create a vision board - a safe place where they can bring together pictures, words, and phrases that symbolize what's most important and represents some aspect of what they want their future to look like.

Diane in Arizona made the vision board process come to life for her by involving her family.

And, as soon as she was able to help them understand that this was their opportunity to dream and fantasize about their life and future possibilities, she, a single mom of two and a foster mom of many, was able to engage the imaginations and creativity of her sons and to create a vision that extended well beyond what she expected.

Good advice. You've really come along as a motivational speaker and life coach. You're in a grey tshirt, sitting on the floor with a dog running around and you still deliver a strong message. If you were in a suit on a stage with an audience I cannot even imagine how much energy you would transfer. Keep going with this!

Thank you for your kind words. The vision board idea is a powerful tool when people really allow themselves to participate in it; then, when you add good coaching on top of that, it can shift something powerful and long-lasting in the person's spirit.
