@bmxman242 granted that GM is not good at naming engines, but the 454 was the ls4 , ls5 and ls6 in the 70's, but the ls1 is limited to only 5.7 liter engines.(the other 5.7 in the z06 was called the ls6, and had ~400hp) where as the 5.3 is a varient of the ls1 but has a different bore vs. the ls1, and diff parts, so its called just vortec 5300, or lm7, l59, lm4, or l33 depending on what it has. The aluminum version in my impala is the ls4 cause it is the 4th gen, where as yours it 3 gen.

i thought you were confused with the OLD OLD 454 blocks from the 70's

@bmxman242 lol good joke! their is an ls4 5.3 in my impala ss in my garage! so i think you might want to "do the research..." so a 5.3 is not an ls1 as you clam! it is an ls4!

um a 5.3 is not an ls1...its an ls4...ls1's are 5.7...so which one is in this truck? 5.3 or 5.7?
