And by the way...Ignorance can be very offensive... What if I started saying that Lambada is from Argentina just because I heard that music there?!?!?! Not only I would be showing I am ignorant, I would also be offending Brazilians...That's what you look like when you call this Lambada... and by the way, as far as I know...Lambada was considered for a long time a very low level music and dance...right??!?!?!??

It is offensive for an African or for a Caribbean to hear all the time that Zouk/ Kizomba and Lambada are the same thing. They ARE NOT the same thing. It does not matter if you dance it in a different way but it is an insult if you say that it is the same thing. It is not respecting other people's culture.

Every country has his own name for this ritme. Makossa, mapouka, n´dombolo, zouk, caboswing/ghettozouk and even r&b (and yes, there are slight differences, but still)... And in Brazil many will call it lambada, I think :-) This guy is from Portugal. No idea what what he calls his music.

I know, i know about Kassav who 'invented' the zouk music in the eighties, I know about Jacob who made the zouk love, I know about caboswing, I know about soukous. What I meant is that it very suitable to dance lambada on.
Anyway, does it matter what I dance to the music, as long as I appreciate it and buy the album ;-)

Zouk was born in the Caribbean (music and dance). Kizomba was born in Angola (music and dance). The Brazilians dance Zouk and Kizomba as if it was lambada (Zouk and Kizomba music -Lambada the dance).
Please try to get out of the Brazilian ghetto mentality and learn a little bit more of the real cultural routes of Zouk and Kizomba that ARE NOT Brazilian.

That's not lambada Arrawa, it's caled Kizomba from the Portuguese speaking African countries.
