@79fordblake Yeah, they started making the straight 6-gear transmission in 1950, at some point, during that year. My dad has a 1952 Model A, and it's got the straight 6. Model 60's have the exact same transmission, the straight 6.
I like the older ones with the high/low range lever. They'll pin your ears back, out on the road. I had a 1951 late model G John Deere that had the high/low range, and in high gear, full throttle, it would flat ass get right on down the road.

@MrCattleFarmer1, I think the A got the straight 6 towards the end of the 1950 year model. All 51 and 52 have it.

@79fordblake It looks like this A still has the 3 speed hi / low trans. when did JD switch to a straight 6 speed in their A's?

@gonzo80009871, the pressed steel frame came out in later part of 47. Stopped making the A in 52.
