On 9 November 2009, Greg Grossmeier made a presentation to the U-M School of Public Health faculty. The presentation provided an overview of the Open.Michigan initiative and describe the benefits of publishing learning materials as Open Educational Resources (OER) for faculty and researchers. Topics covered included:

• Disseminating educational materials to educators, physicians, clinicians, students, and self-learners throughout the world, free of charge.
• Enabling global access to health science education materials: lectures, labs, and other course curricula.
• Improving health education and health care delivery within the University, the State of Michigan, and worldwide.
