Nice to see a rational presentation of the current off-road situation in our national forests. Good work from the off-road community voluntarily maintaining these trails for users of ALL TYPES. It would be nice if some of the other users would recognize that effort and be a bit more willing to share.

I think this is one of the most reasonable (and possibly factual) videos I've ever seen on the current off-road situation. The fact that the government would rather spend millions to close trails instead of spending the same amount to maintain trails is very telling...

People do not realize that closing opportunities for ohv recreation just concentrates the ohv use, and it's impact on the forest is then greatly increased.
There is plenty of forest for everyone to be able to use it, as long as it is kept open for the US people.
Most people are either ignorant, or seem to have forgotten, that the National Forest was set aside to assure an independent timber crop for the United States of America.
We have plenty of wilderness already set aside.

Realize that "environmental" groups use scare tactics like saying if forests aren't re-classified as wilderness they're vulnerable to development.
If by "development," they mean use by more citizens than if the forest was wilderness, this is correct.
If by "development," they mean track housing or other loss of public land, they're wrong.

It's nice to finally see some public messaging from the more rational side of this discussion. I'd still be more in favor of "unmaintained trails" so it was less perfect.. more "wild"... but the issue is really checking the well-organized efforts of the eco-utopian nut cases from closing EVERYTHING.
