im and 15 and I actually have the same thing iv'e had it since i was in 2nd grade and my hair is coming back in but its failing back out so this would be my 5th time it falling out and i recently just told everybody because alot of people started making funn of me and it was hurting me so bad i lost all my eyelashes and eyebrowes and its hard on a girl that has this but you just have to be strong bout it because God did it to make us all stronger.!(:

Yes Alopecia is very challenging. My hair grew back once in the past 9 years. It lasted for about 2 years but then began to fall out again and now I just have patches which (like Danielle) I just shave off. Personally, I felt liberated when I told people instead of hiding but it's very personal. I love the freedom that my scarves give me. They have changed my life. I wish you the best of luck. My husband has this and its over 10 years now, how did u get your eyelashes back?or they didn't fall at all.

Initially my eyebrows and lashes fell out but they grew back when my hair came back after 5 years. Now my hair is falling out again and my eyelashes have fallen out on one eye but not the other! It's disconcerting but there is nothing I can do. I hope this helps.

My Alopecia is similar to yours at this point. I have hair in the front and hardly any hair in the back. Try and be positive. My hair did grow back a few years ago but is actively falling out now. I wish you the best!

Everyone here, seriously , check out global Alopecia mission. It is a group of people who are working towards funding research for this condition. It has just been registered as a non profit organisation/ charity and it is do empowering to know that we are doing something!! It's time we realised that it's ok to want our hair back and the cure will come if we push for it. The research fairies don't exist . Let's do it !!

My girlfriend who I have known for over 7 months,and have been with for almost 4 months has alopecia.I actually got her to change her hair style :) to a longer/burgundy colored wavy wig.she looks beautilful!

wow.. i know exactly how you feel. I have had alopecia since I can remeber and there were good times and then there was the bad. It is so hard to just get through the regular daily things that others take for granted. thank you for posting!

those with alopecia spots on the HEad go see a dermatologist and ask him to apply Squaric Acid on the hairless spots. I had these spots on my head and i started going to a Dr. in Manhattan in July and Now we are in Oct and 80% of the hairless spots have filled in. Google Squaric Acid and you will see a detailed explanation of this drug. I do have other spots on my face, eyebrows, chest, arm, ass. I used Pure cinnomin oil on the spots on my arm, i do see progress,
