The National Day Parade (NDP) 2011 Show is presented in an integrated musical, showcasing the Singapore Spirit and Singapore's progress over a prologue and five acts. Stringing the acts together are several main characters and various renditions of this year's theme song "In a Heartbeat". The show tells the story of Singapore from the perspective of a family, centre-ing on two main characters- Mother and Son, whose story brings out different elements of the Singapore Spirit, with Singapore's history as the backdrop.

@SGSFailure Many sadists that believe in violence and vengeance will agree with you.--and they love it too. Consequences should be civilized and non-violent, not inhumane and barbaric. Sad Singapore retains it's reputation of violent uncivilized urban savages and the internet has been very helpful though in exposing it's barbarity.

I think people should stop judging Singapore just because of a few bad eggs, dosn't mean the whole country is bad. You can choose to believe it or not, I'm a Hongkonger and I chose to live in Singapore instead of my homeland. I am proud of how much Singapore has progressed since I moved in. Singapore will always be my home. <3 Go Singapore!

I don't understand why people are saying the National Day songs are getting from bad to worse. While some songs are quite boring, this one is actually very nice. Although I think the pace of the song is not appropriate to get the crowd singing.
