Ear of the beholder, I guess. Spanish sounds quite ugly to me. On the other hand, I love German's alveolar ch sound.

German-speaking countries have a much higher GDP than Spanish-speaking countries, so it makes more sense to learn German if you're learning them for business. If you're going to be going around in poor monolingual countries in South America, learning Spanish does indeed make more sense.

@alphatotheomega7 Yes, learn German, the ugliest language ever. And it's spoken in SO MANY countries. (Four. Four countries speak German. That's so many. Not like Spanish, which is only spoken in 21 countries. Because we all know that 21<4, right?)
