Maina Njenga's Wife Burial

The late wife of former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga, Virginia Nyakio, her driver and two other deceased Mungiki members were laid to rest at Kitengela, in a funeral that bordered on the dramatic. The mourners comprising mostly of Mungiki adherents had jeered all attempts by Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waittitu to address them. It took the intervention of Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru to cool down the charged crowds. Though Maina has called for forgiveness of the assailants of his wife and the other deceased Mungiki members, his lawyer Paul Muite insists that the law should follow its course.
