Brought this from a friend for $80. I couldn't pass it up knowing how much it really costs and since I have a second window to use, why not? I was even able to get the box, instructions, everything with it. It's newer, but it feels and sounds like a well made fan from the old days. It has no oil ports or air vents on the motor, so I guess AK doesn't think it needs to breath. Let's just hope it doesn't quit on me too soon because of this. It's more powerful then my Lakewood 18", but not by too much. The extra weight and size makes it harder to put in the window. I might use the storm guard feature to "permanently" install on the window. It has a 56 second coast time without any wind blowing or other open windows.

  • Wow! That fan is very huge.

  • Was this put in a window?

  • I would like to purchase one of these for use as a whole house fan. The specifications say that it fits most windows. So, here is my uneducated question: do you remove the window and does the unit fill up the frame? I have a fairly standard replacement window.

  • what's its cfm?

btw thats really strong winds right?

how fast do you think the fan's producing?

  • If its built like the other late Air King fans, its sealed up because its a permanently split capacitor, ball bearing motor. That would explain the great coast time too. I'd say these Air Kings are just about the last of the HV's worth buying still in USA. Sweet fan!

  • That fan is church!

  • I wouldn't mind having one of these myself. It looks like a real air mover. :)

  • It looks to be well built, interesting that the motor is sealed up. It is a rare thing to see a modern all-metal fan.

  • it looks like the same basic fan as my grandmas GE comercial HV 20" fan. the motor and the blades look the same. i did some research on it and i found it was made by the industrial grade fan division of lasko which if im not mistaken also owns airking? so thats pretty cool! it is very well crafted and very powerfull for such a late fan! late 90's i think?
