A week in our life :) - 10/5/11

We took the kids to Joel/Peyson's first Peter Piper Pizza experience (it's like Chuck E Cheese). I use to take the toddlers all the time when he was at work so he had never been & neither had Peyson. She loved all the lights & music at first but I think eventually it was either A) too stimulating or B) she was overly exhausted b/c she ended up fussy w/ me nursing/walking outside till she fell asleep.

The next video clip is exactly how Kacen always wakes up. He grabs something from the pantry, rubbing his eyes the entire way, brings it to me & says "Goldfish Mommy...Mommy? Goldfish?" in his cutest, sweetest voice ever.

Peyson has really started to enjoy playing with her toys. She's gone from concentrating super hard being completely fixated as if she's trying to telepathically use powers to bring toys to her (ha) to being able to see & grab an object to now really playing with them & enjoying it (mostly for teething purposes)!

The kids love to give each other hugs/kisses & LOVE watching Kacen get up on his tippy toes desperately trying to reach his tall sisters face to give her sweet kisses followed by a bear hug!

The cute black/blue zebra dress is from Zulily & the made to match bow is from Carrie Wilson on Facebook she does custom orders.

We finally got our home ready for the fall despite the fact that it's still a 100 degrees here.

Usually it's Kacen being the goofy clown in the family but in the next clip it was Jacelyn making Kacen laugh in the tub w/ her funny facial expressions.

Peyson had her first laugh & we caught her big one on camera!!! Joel was outside putting together a storage system for Kacen's room but he caught the next big one :)

Kacen LOVES to open/close the door & playing "BOO!" with you while you're in the bathroom. He can easily make himself giggle!

I downloaded a white noise app & Peyson LOVES it! It helps her calm down for bed but also to nurse better as she's more relaxed & at ease.

Every night before bed we're always creeping around the corner scaring the kids, they love it! Jacelyn gets on it now w/ scaring Kacen :)

Herky (our cat) has become VERY protective & loving of Peyson! Where ever she is, he is! If she's in the bouncy he's underneath keeping guard. If she's in the jumper he's right beside. Never fails. & yes our cat is more like a small dog in size ha

Peyson has started teething BADLY! It's constant drool w/ her now days.

Now that our weather is no longer 110+ degrees & we're averaging 90-95 we've been taking advantage of the beautiful weather w/ lots of outdoor play! The kids love it. We're all dreading winter.

The sunglasses you see Peyson wear are Jacelyn's 1st pair of sunglasses. I'm surprised we still have them as I can't managed to hang onto my large sunglasses for more than a week but have kept up w/ these tiny things for 4 years now.

We ended the week w/ a playdate to the zoo w/ some friends! One of the girls in our playgroup who was on pelvic rest as much as I was had her baby recently (just a few weeks apart) so we finally got our kiddies together & went to the zoo so we could meet each others girls for the first time!

Lucy,

I am curious to know if you find that the children generally favor you because you are in the home full-time? I am 8 months pregnant and my boyfriend and I will be splitting time with the baby due to our work schedules. I work days, and I worry that as the baby grows and spends more "awake" time with my boyfriend, that I will always be second choice caregiver. Any thoughts?

@lovepeonies5 Mine do favor me the 1st first six months, BIG TIME, not bc I'm the main caregiver but due to me being the only food source & partly bc of the main care giver. Kacen & Peyson screamed anytime Joel neared them the first 6 months. It hurt his feelings so in return he started changing the bilk of their diapers & doing ALL their baths which is when they got play time w/ them too & that helped. Its a short lived time frame though. Jace was part bottle fed & it was half & half w/ her.

Your kids are so adorable,, Peyson has so much hair and is so beautiful. My daughter is due on the 3rd of December can't wait have my own little granddaughter to cuddle,, I think I may post some footage of her when she comes along,, great idea to share with others,,,
