Seven brotheres on their way from Avalon
Seven sisters shooting skyways for the sun
Homer's Illiad lay burning in the fire
I was pleased just then 'till you said
That the sun will never shine

A desert town to the west of Idaho
Leads to valleys shading vineyards from the snow
Messiah in the sky puts flames upon the sea
I was mesmerized 'till you said
I was positively free
And the sun won't shine on me
No the sun won't shine on me
Come on sun shine on me

Seven brotheres on their way from Avalon
Seven sisters shooting skyways for the sun
You allways said to me don't walk the straightest line
So I took heed of that 'till you said
That the sun will never shine

  • Why this group never made it big must be one of the greatest mysteries of all time.

  • @dikidar

although with why justin bieber is a hit

  • Used to have Felt records until I had to sell/give away my record collection. So nice to hear this track again.

  • Because sometimes popularity and genius are mutually exclusive

  • I think they were just too good to make it huge and Lawrence didn't sing in that phony emotional way so many singers do. Plus the lyrics were to poetic and obscure for most people to relate to. Long Live Felt!!!

  • @Dead4everYoung Everyone has different tastes. I think the 60's felt, that in your opinion does "pretty cool psychedelic blues rock" , sounds like shit; but that's just my opinion. Lawrence isn't trying to sound like Dylan, that's just how his voice sounds; and he can't change that even if he wanted to. Besides, it's not like Dylan has a good voice to begin with. Lawrence is a genius, and Maurice Deebank is the guitar player Dylan never was and never will be.

  • @dikidar : Lawrence's behaviour sometimes didn't help much.

btw, this song is a masterpiece.
