  • He's confusing hurdle making with wattle and daub. "...this spindly looking stuff", happens to be Hazel and is best used thicker and in split lengths rather than in the round. You don't need so much hazel either, a two inch gap between lath is fine. And I've never used shit in my daub. It's much quicker than building a block wall, and warmer !
